New: antibody differentiation between Anaplasma phagocytophilum, the bacterial pathogen of Human Granulocytic Anaplasmosis (HGA), which was previously known as Human Granulocytic Ehrlichiosis (HGE), and Ehrlichia chaffeensis, the pathogen of Human Monocytic Ehrlichiosis (HME)

  • HME occurs predominantly in North America
  • HGA is dominant in Europe
